AMSA, an A2A Group company involved in the management of urban environmental services, is working on innovating and digitizing its processes.
The AMSA Plan initiative, in which Hinto®Group collaborated, aimed to transform the approach to service delivery by introducing digital solutions for optimized management of operations and significant improvement in operational efficiency. This project is part of a broader context with digital evolution, aiming to deal with the growing needs of the industry and users effectively.
The main challenge for AMSA was to modernize and digitalize its urban service management processes, improving operational efficiency and optimizing its green footprint. It was necessary to evolve its traditional management, which was often limited by manual and fragmented systems, to adopt a more integrated and technologically advanced approach, capable of responding in a more agile and flexible way to the needs of daily work.

The Amsa Plan project was developed in several steps, ending up with an MVP consisting of an integrated app and back office.
The initial phase included a detailed analysis of the service by Service Designer Hinto®Group to identify areas for improvement and the activities targeted by the solution. Subsequently, a navigable prototype was built using Figma and had it validated by ecological operators in the field and various stakeholders in order to verify the User Experience. The involvement of ecological operators, through field interviews and specific training, ensured smooth adoption of the solution, while the implementation of interactive dashboards provided managers with analytical tools to monitor performance and make data-driven decisions.
On a technical level, the Hinto®Group team was responsible for the development of the digital platform through which to automate and optimize day-to-day operations, particularly related to vehicle assignment and waste collection route management. This application now integrates advanced technologies for dynamic mapping of service areas and intelligent algorithms for optimal planning. The technological heart of the system is Hasura, a solution capable of integrating different data sources ensuring performance, security and versatility.
Next to the backend built with Hasura, we created the frontend in React Native for the app used by the drivers and in React for the application used by the offices.
This built-in approach made it possible to quickly create a testable tool, which was then translated into an effective solution adopted on a large scale. This resulted in a more efficient, flexible, and needs-responsive waste management, moreover minimizing the environmental impacts of a management previously done with paper-based tools.
The Amsa Plan project has produced tangible and measurable results that have significantly improved service management. The introduction of the digital platform has reduced the time spent on many daily activities and improved operational planning, resulting in increased service efficiency.
Digitization of processes has led to a decrease in errors, ensuring greater reliability and quality of service. In addition, the adoption of advanced analytical tools has enabled better monitoring and interpretation of data, facilitating the adoption of strategic solutions, with a direct impact on end-user satisfaction and overall service effectiveness.
